You may be wondering, "What is a monk, anyway?" or, "Who can become a monk, and how?" Or, "What do monks do?" Before walking you through some answers, let me orient you to where Subiaco Abbey (in Subiaco, Arkansas) is. Here's a photo of our monastic property. (Click Here for Photo )

Besides the abbey, you see our guest and retreat house and the buildings that comprise our secondary school for boys, Subiaco Academy. The academy has been serving young men for over 118 years and is still going strong. In the photo are also barns, a carpenter shop, an artist studio, laundry, greenhouse, the headmaster's residence, and acres of woods, ponds, and pasture.
